Born Aron Proval on May 20, 1942 in Brooklyn, David Proval starred in feature films such as The Shawshank Redemption, The Relic and The Siege, but he is best known for his role as Richie Aprile on the critically acclaimed HBO series The Sopranos. He also had recurring stints on TV shows like Everybody Loves Raymond. The seasoned actor had the chance to work with top director Martin Scorsese on his 1973 movie Mean Streets. Of Jewish heritage, he is the son of actress Clara Katz. His other credits include Smokin’ Aces, Four Rooms, UHF, and Mob Queen. Moreover, he lent his voice to the cult classic Fantasy Animation WIZARDS in 1997, where he played the robot assassin who was made the transition to good thanks to the peaceful wizard Avatar.
Proval has made the round of shows on television, including episodes of The West Wing, Felicity, LA Law, Friday the 13th: The Series, Fame, Miami Vice, The Palace Guard, Quantum Leap, and The Equalizer.
